This paper introduced a new kind of healthcare textile fiber---magnetic fiber,and its blended yarn. Magnetic fiber and yarn are different from the ordinary textile raw materials, which is made by adding nanoscale magnetic particles in the process of polymer spinning. The permanent magnetic particle has special health functions like promoting the blood circulation, strengthening the body immunity, activating the body cells, eliminating fatigue etc., and it has a great influence on the physical and chemical properties. Therefore, studying the performance of the blended yarn helps magnetic fiber knitted fabric weaving and finishing processes carried out smoothly. This paper focuses on the study of magnetic fiber including the fiber morphological structure, infrared spectroscopy and the single fiber strength; Then blended yarn performance study included the strength of blended yarn, moisture content, heat resistance,acid and alkali resistance. In order to better research and analysis of the basic properties of magnetic fiber and yarn, and applied to the research and development of functional knitted garments, The single fiber fineness of the magnetic fiber (polyester base) studied in this paper is 1.67dtex, and the specification of blended yarn is 18.6tex which is made of magnetic fiber and viscose fiber at the ratio of 40/60.
