报告英文简介:

Textile products are being suitable mediums for the existence and growth of microorganisms has increased the demand for antimicrobial applications. Ionic and metallic silver compounds have extensive use among the antimicrobial agents. Prosperous studies on the synthesis of nanosilver have aroused the interest on silver based materials. Even though silver is generally accepted to be non-toxic, extreme increase of nanosilver use, several publications mentioned the substantial accumulation of silver in water resources due to dissolution of nanosilver and its diffusion to the environment. Silver particles are released into the water during washing processes in particular and they will diffuse from the textile in time due to use. In this work silver ion release from antimicrobial textile fabrics treated by silver based finishing chemicals are investigated. Antibacterial finishing agent that was synthesized in our previous work and two well known commercial chemicals were selected and applied to the cotton and PES fabrics. The effects of factors among which are the type of silver compound used, composition of the fabric, time and laundering process, on the amount of silver released were studied. The amount of silver released was analyzed by ICP-OES. Fabric surfaces and released silver particles were analyzed by SEM. The antimicrobial efficiencies of treated fabrics were also examined.
