报告英文简介: The paper described an approach for the hydrophilic modification of polyester by PVA (polyvinyl alcohol). PVA was dissolved in de-ionized water firstly, then it had a cross-linking reaction with polyester by GA (Glutaraldehyde), polyester showed good hydrophilic property when it was pretreated by NaOH, the cross-linking solutions consisted of 10 vol. % acetic acid, 10vol. % methanol and 10 vol. % sulfuric acid in a volume ration of 3:2:1. At last the fibers were used to prepare polyester paper via sheet forming method. The results showed that, when the mole ratio of GA with PVA was 1:4, the hydrophilic property enhanced with the increase of PVA, but when the content of PVA was higher than 1.5 wt%, the gel resisted on the surface of polyester. It was demonstrated using FTIR analysis that there were great many hydroxyl groups on the surface of polyester, SEM images showed that the transparent thin film was around the polyester fiber, and contact angle measurements showed that the water contact angle of the obtained polyester paper decreased when the content of PVA increased.
